Hmm, something tells me that the IRS wouldn’t send this over email.
I’m glad we already purchased our plane tickets…. Oil is going for a record high today.

It seems silly but I have to make sure I’m wearing matching socks today. Yesterday, Julia pointed out that my socks didn’t match. By this point it was already the end of the day…
Crazy wind over night and this morning. I can hear the wind blowing onmy windows.

For the past week or so I’ve been looking at several sites with a list of generators. I found what seems like a nice one at Costco that is within my price range. I would say the amount of power it can generate is overkill. But my inner Tim Allan keeps grunting power. A 7,500 watt generator that can burst up to 9,000 watts is more that my house would really need. With that much power I...

It looks like my scanner will live a little longer, I was able to repair it. Woot!
I might need a new printer...
Just one more thing to break around the house. Last night I was trying to scan some of my bills and wouldn’t you know it my scanner broke. I might have to take it apart tonight and see if I can figure out why it stopped running. I suspect it’s the flatbed scanner that’s the root of the problem. I’m anticipating that I’ll need a new multi-function printer. I saw...
No luck with getting a generator. I was able to get a new one from Lowell’s but it was DOA. I’ll have to return in and just tough it out. Were not expecting power until Sunday. :-(

I’m hoping to get ICS on my Asus tablet soon. It looks pretty cool, I’ve heard that Asus has had some issues with the prime so that may be part of the delay. In previous articles I’ve read it was expected to deploy in December but it looks like that didn’t happen.
I hate Comcast
I’m so tired of dealing with them. They can never get my billing correct. I’m tired of being overbilled.
Tired at the end of the week.

Microsoft Reinvents Wi-Fi for White Spaces →
I hope this means faster Wi-Fi speeds in the near future. Using all the unused space between the frequencies seems like an efficient use of an already congested radio spectrum. As a rule you always need to have a buffer between frequencies to reduce the amount of interference from other radios signals. If the FCC allows this to go through it would reduce the need of running CAT 5-6 cables in...

Owen on the potty
Owen decided he wanted to start sitting on the potty today. Maybe he won’t be as bad as Julia was. Until you have small kids you would never think that have your kids use the potty would make you so happy. This is a pretty big change from a few weeks ago when I would ask if he wanted to sit on the potty and he would reply no while trying to run away.
Dumping Comcast
I’ve been thinking recently about how much money I’m paying to Comcast for my TV service. When I think about it I really don’t watch a lot of live TV anymore. The only thing I’m really watching live these days is the news. Other than that it’s either shows on Netflix, Zune video, something that’s on-demand. I’m wondering if I reduced my Comcast service...

Beautiful Australian Outback - Photo Gallery →
I would love to go back to Australia and travel around more. When Laura and I went for our honeymoon we only had 18 days to make our way around. What a beautiful place even at night in the outback. I was blown away at night seeing the dust from the solar system.

Buster
Last night was interesting, for part of the night we thought our cat Buster escaped from the house. Normally you might not be concerned except that Buster has always been an indoor cat and he is missing his front claws. Buster being lost outside would not be the best thing; he’s not the brightest cat. In the wind and rain I went walking around the neighborhood looking for the cat. I...

RocketRaid why are you not happy
Rocket Raid why are you throwing exceptions on my machine…. Recently, I purchased as Sans Digital TowerRaid TR5M(-B). It’s worked fine for several months but now it’s started to have some strange issues. I’ve found the device running but with only one disk running in a active mode. Camping Weekend
This weekend we decided to camping with the kids to the Hood Canal. It’s been a long time since I’ve gone, years… To be frank I really wasn’t looking forward to it since I felt Owen was still a bit young. It would be his first time sleeping out side of the crib except for daycare. Laura decided it would be fun and set the plans in motion with Sophia.

Gordon Ramsay and the power of delegation
Last night I was watching Gordon Ramsay’s show Kitchen Nightmares and while it was entertaining it did get me thinking. One show specifically show how a chief was trying to do it all and became overwhelmed. Being so overwhelmed resulted in the product suffering. This scenario rings very true even for myself. This is a good lesson to learn from, if you can’t let go and allow others to...

Interesting review of the storage clouds. I too believe that what #Apple has done with the #icloud is leading but it’s inital execution is a bit lack luster. Only 5 gigs, really? At least with Mesh you get 25Gigs for you files. The real difference is you can now put more than just document type files in these storage clouds. Apple just went #allIn! http://bit.ly/jUiR3Q
